Place description:

On a small area, alongside winding and steep banks of Nistru river, in the radius of only 5 km are placed starting points for almost all wind directions. The slopes are of the height of 80-100m. Thermo-dynamic stream allows you to fly at the altitude of 70-100m and to search for thermals ascending from the water edge of the opposite bank of the river. Thermals and all the wind changes are well seen on the water ripples. In a nice weather, good pilots do not fly locally longer than 30-40 min to catch a thermal for an impressive XC flight.  Usually, the 1500-2000m cloud base and fair wind allow flying flat lands XC more than 60km without big difficulties. The only thing that stops a good pilot is the border of our small Moldova. 

All the slopes are placed in vicinity of the villages Rogi and Molovata that are at about 50km form Chisinau (the Capital of Moldova).  In the Molovata village, alongside the pictorial bank of Dubosary Reservoir, are placed a number of tourist centers, holiday homes and private hotels where the participants can find accommodations of all levels. The nearest urban type community is Dubosary that is 7 km distance from Molovata (Base Camp).

Competition Program:

May 15^th – 16^th, (Friday, Saturday) – participants arrival, training flights.
May 16^th, 18.00-22.00 and May 17^th, 8.00-10.00 – participants registration.

May 17^th – 23^th, (Sunday - Saturday) – flights in correspondence with the competition program.
May 24^th, (Sunday) - reserve day, free flights, departure of participants.

All the participants must have:

- Valid FAI license;

- National Paraglider Pilot Certificate, or other document that would give the right of usage of the Moldavian Air Space (for Moldovan Pilots only);
- Medical insurance for the entire period of the competition with the remark “Paragliding” inclusive (can be issued locally);
- Liability insurance for the entire period of the competition (will be issued locally);
- Damage free paragliding equipment including rescue parachute and helmet;
- GPS (except GARMIN, the computer connection cable is required);
- Desirable: portable radio transmitter and mobile phone.

Registration fee is 70 Euro of payed till 1 May and 90 Euro after this date and includes:

- Performance of the starts and flights under the conditions “open window” during all competition days;
- Topographic map of the flights zone including Control Points;
- Organization of judging and GPS control;
- Weather forecast;
- T-shirt of participant with the Championship logo;
- Transportation from the Base Camp to the starting points;
- Pick up of the participants from XC landings (from the main roads indicated on the pre-flight briefings);
- Participation in the Paragliding Party.
